Our virtual meeting room

As in a traditional classroom, this is where you

• meet and collaborate with tutors and fellow participants,
• have access to materials and resources,
• find tasks and assignments,
• share ideas and discuss any topics of interest.

Our VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, whenever it suits you.

Meetings can take place in forums, via the internal messenger system, via chat, etc. Most of the time, communication will be asynchronous, i.e. we do not have to be online at the same time.

Course materials and resources are web-based and often take us outside this classroom.

Our virtual meeting room is a MOODLE, i.e. a VLE based upon an open source technology called Moodle. This Moodle belongs to the Volkshochschule in Meidling, Austria , who are kindly hosting this course.

'Walk around' your virtual classroom and make yourself at home. Click on things, try out how they work. Don't worry - you cannot spoil or destroy anything, the worst thing that can happen is that you involuntarily leave the platform and have to log in again.

Open a new browser window and log in to our course once more. Decrease both windows in size and you can then have these instructions open in one window while you use the other one to try out the platform functions.
